What Are Pushed, Pulled, and Slipped Date Movements in Pipeline Insights?

Required permission:

  • No special permission is required to turn on/off the Date Movement Enabled Insight for a Pipeline Insight.

The Date Movement Enabled Insight is turned on for all Insights by default. The Date Movement Insight labels opportunity date transitions as either Pushed, Pulled, or Slipped.

Pulled

A Pulled opportunity is defined as one where the date for the selected Date Field has moved into the Pipeline View's Date Range.

Example: The Pipeline View looks are deals for January 1 through March 31. If a deal originally had a Close Date of April 15 that was later changed to March 31, then that deal is considered to be Pulled.

Pushed

A Pushed opportunity is one where the date for the Date Field has been moved to further in the future but is still within the View's Date Range.

Example: A Pipeline View tracks opportunities with a Close Date in the July. If the deal's Close Date was originally July 10 but was moved to July 30, the deal is considered Pushed since it's still within the View's Date Range.

Slipped

A Slipped opportunity is one where the date for the Date Field has been moved out of the View's Date Range.

Example: The View's Date Range is the October 1 through December 31. An opportunity had a Close Date of November 30, but this was later changed to January 31 of the following year. Since the deal no longer falls in the October 1 to December 31 Date Range, the opportunity is considered to be Slipped.
