How Do I Create a Coaching Template?

Coaching Templates can be created for quick and consistent coaching. Templates can be editable or locked as needed for flexibility or compliance needs. 

Required permissions:

  • The Coaching: Create Template or Coaching: All Access permission is required to create a coaching Template.

Access the Template Creation Page

  1. Go to Coach --> Template --> + Create Template.

  2. You'll be taken to the Details section of the Template creation page.

Add the Template Name and Type

  1. Enter a Name for your Template.

  2. Choose Locked or Unlocked for the Template Type.

    1. Select Locked if you want to managers to be able to add, but not remove, Agenda Items to the Template when designing their own Sessions and Programs.

    2. Choose Unlocked if you want managers to be able to add and remove Agenda Items from the Template whenever they use it for their own coaching conversations.

  3. Optional: Add a Description, Coaching Instructions, and Objective for the template.

Choose Which Managers Can Use the Template

  1. Click on Add Managers.

  2. Use the Filter menu to pick which managers can use the Template: All managers in the company, or only certain managers.

Add Agenda Items, Attribution Metrics, and Rating Categories.

  1. Click on Add Agenda Items.

  2. Under Will this agenda be completed individually or as a group?, you can pick either Individually or Group.

    1. If you picked Individually, then the Template can only be used for one-one-one Sessions or Programs.

    2. If you picked Group, then the Template can only be used for Group Sessions.

  3. Use the Add Agenda Item menu to pick the Agenda Items to include on the Template. At least one Agenda Item must be Required.

    1. Group Templates support only two Agenda Item types: Content Block and Embed Media.

  4. Optional: Select Attribution Metrics and Rating Categories for ranking employee performance, preparedness, sentiment, and similar points.

  5. Click on Save, then choose Save as Draft or Save and Open.
